Connect Google Cloud During Trial Registration

Use this guide to connect the first Google Cloud service account while registering for a Cloudaware trial.

If the Cloudaware account is already active and another Google service account or project(s) must be added, use Add a Google Service Account from the Admin Panel instead.

Start in Google Cloud

Log in to the Google Cloud Console.

  1. Create a dedicated service account for Cloudaware:

    • Select the Google Cloud project you want to connect to Cloudaware.

    • Go to IAM & admin Service accounts. Click + CREATE SERVICE ACCOUNT.

    • Enter a service account name. Click Create and continue.

  2. Assign the Viewer role for the target Google Cloud project:

    • In ‘Permissions', select the Viewer role from the list. Click Continue.

    • Optional. In ‘Principals with access’, add users if needed.

    • Click Done.

  3. Create and download the service account key:

    • Find the created service account in the list. Click the three-dot menu → Manage keys.

    • Click Add keyCreate new key.

    • Select JSON → click Create. A JSON file will be automatically downloaded. Save the key file in a secure location as it is is required for further setup in Cloudaware.

  4. Enable APIs for the target Google Cloud project:

    • Use the console search bar to find and select APIs & Services.

    • Click + ENABLE APIS AND SERVICES. Find and enable the following APIs:

Enabling APIs may take several minutes.

Complete the setup in Cloudaware

Return to the Cloudaware Launcher (Control Hub) and click Connect GCP.

  1. Enter the Google Cloud service account name.

  2. Click Load credentials from file.

  3. Click Continue to check the credentials.

  4. Click Save.

After Cloudaware validates the service account, the trial registration is submitted.

Next steps

Check the inbox for the Registration Complete email.

Registration may take up to 1 hour.
