Troubleshooting

note

Webhook delivery depends on the Cloudaware webhook URL, payload format, Sumo Logic webhook connection, and the alert or monitor that triggers the webhook.

Incidents Are Not Created in Cloudaware

  • Confirm that the Sumo Logic Webhook integration was saved successfully in Cloudaware.
  • Verify that the webhook URL in Sumo Logic matches the URL generated by Cloudaware.
  • Confirm that the Sumo Logic monitor or alert is configured to use the webhook connection.
  • Send a test webhook from Sumo Logic and review the result.

Webhook Test Fails

  • Verify that the payload format in Sumo Logic matches the payload format generated by Cloudaware.
  • Confirm that the generated Cloudaware webhook URL was copied completely.
  • Check whether Sumo Logic reports authentication, formatting, or endpoint errors.

Alert Context Is Missing

  • Review the Sumo Logic payload mapping and confirm that the alert fields required by Cloudaware are included.
  • Confirm that the source alert contains the values expected in the Cloudaware incident.
  • Test with a known alert payload to isolate monitor configuration issues.

Security Notes

  • Treat the generated Cloudaware webhook URL as sensitive.
  • Limit access to the Sumo Logic webhook connection to approved Sumo Logic administrators.
  • Route only approved Sumo Logic alerts to Cloudaware to avoid exposing unnecessary log or security context.
  • Review alert payloads before enabling the webhook, because payload fields may include hostnames, usernames, event details, resource identifiers, or security findings.
  • Rotate or regenerate webhook configuration if the URL is exposed or no longer complies with your organization's security policy.
  • Remove unused Sumo Logic webhook connections when the Cloudaware integration is deleted.
