Notifications

Notifications keep change processes moving and reduce surprises. Use this guide to define when, where, and how change-related notifications should be sent in Cloudaware.

What to Notify On

  • Approval requests and outcomes (Approved/Rejected)
  • High‑risk detected changes (drift) on critical services
  • Upcoming maintenance window execution (start/end)
  • Emergency change announcements and retrospective reminders

Routing Patterns in Cloudaware

  • Route by CMDB context: application, tier/environment, account/OU, owner.
  • Use different channels by urgency (email for audit trail, Slack/PagerDuty for on‑call).
  • Avoid alert fatigue by notifying only on high‑risk changes.

Where to Build Notifications

Notifications are usually implemented with Salesforce automation:

  • Record‑triggered Flows (recommended)
  • Workflow rules (legacy) in older tenants
