Dashboards
Use this guide to understand how to plan, build, and request dashboards in Cloudaware Advanced Analytics.
Types of Dashboards
When creating a dashboard, consider the following standard types:
- Service dashboards – application-specific views intended for developers and SREs.
- Platform dashboards – shared views for databases, network services, and other common platform components.
- Executive/business dashboards – high-level views of SLIs, error budgets, and availability metrics.
- Coverage dashboards – overviews of service coverage and data health across accounts and regions.
Create a Dashboard from Scratch
Ensure to prepare dataset first as described here.
At a high-level:
- Open Analytics Studio.
- Click Create → Dashboard.
- Select Blank Dashboard.
- Add the required widgets.
- Connect each widget to a dataset and configure its query.
- Arrange the widgets on the canvas.
- Save the dashboard in the appropriate app.

Widgets
Widgets are the visual components used to present metrics and KPIs in a dashboard.
Common widgets types:
- A donut chart shows composition or share of a whole
- A bar chart shows comparison across categories
- A line chart shows trend over time
- A table shows detailed values
- A scorecard/KPI tile highlights a single important number
