Advanced Analytics
Advanced Analytics provides a cross‑module layer with reporting and business intelligence capabilities built on Cloudaware data and Salesforce CRM Analytics. Advanced Analytics helps teams turn connected Cloudaware data into dashboards, KPIs, scheduled reports, and BI-ready datasets.
- Audience: BI and analytics teams, operations leaders, FinOps teams, security and compliance owners, application owners, and executives
- Outcome: Dashboards, KPIs, scheduled reports, segmentation, and BI exports that turn connected Cloudaware data into actionable operational and business insights
Use this documentation section when you want to:
- Build dashboards and KPIs that combine data from multiple Cloudaware modules.
- Segment reporting by application, team, environment, account, region, or business unit.
- Track adoption, operational trends, coverage gaps, risk exposure, and service health over time.
- Measure detection, response, remediation, and automation outcomes.
- Schedule recurring reports for operational and executive stakeholders.
- Export curated Cloudaware data to BI platforms, data warehouses, and downstream analytics workflows.
How Advanced Analytics Works
At a high level, Advanced Analytics follows this data flow:
- Collect data and events. Cloudaware modules and integrations provide inventory, usage, cost, security, compliance, monitoring, and operational data.
- Normalize and enrich data. Data is mapped to a common structure and enriched with CMDB attributes such as application, environment, cloud account, owner, and team. See Ingestion – Event Sources and Data Preparation.
- Prepare analytics datasets. Data preparation jobs and CRM Analytics recipes in Data Manager transform source data into reusable datasets, metrics, and dimensions.
- Calculate metrics and KPIs. Processing jobs derive operational and business metrics for dashboards, reports, and exports.
- Visualize and distribute results – dashboards, lenses, and exports in CRM Analytics surface insights to users and external BI tools.
Access is governed by Salesforce CRM Analytics permissions and Cloudaware RBAC. See Operations – RBAC.
Platform and data health are monitored through Data Health, Performance & Scale, and Limits & Quotas.
Core Capabilities
Advanced Analytics provides:
- Unified event and metric model – a consistent schema for events, metrics, and dimensions across modules; see Data Model, Events, and Metrics.
- Curated dashboards & KPIs – pre‑built dashboards for adoption, feature usage, recovery KPIs, coverage, and data quality; see Dashboards & Reporting and KPIs.
- Self‑service exploration – the ability to slice and dice datasets in CRM Analytics Studio using segmentation, cohorts, funnels, and retention views.
- Cross‑module correlation – analytics that blend signals from CMDB, Compliance Engine, Cost Management, Unified Monitoring, and other modules using shared dimensions from CMDB.
- Exports and integrations – options to push analytics data to external BI tools and warehouses; see Integrations and Data Warehouse.
Relationship to Other Cloudaware Modules
Advanced Analytics does not replace other modules; it sits on top of them:
- CMDB provides the core inventory, application, ownership, and environment dimensions used in analytics.
- Compliance Engine, Cost Management, and other modules emit events and metrics that feed Advanced Analytics.
- Integrations (cloud, monitoring, security, ITSM, data platforms) influence which subject areas and KPIs are available.
Treat Advanced Analytics as the place where cross‑module questions are answered using a consistent set of metrics and dimensions.
