Verification
Verification ensures that patches have been applied correctly and that systems remain healthy afterward.
Use this guide to review post-patching validation steps and confirm that systems remain healthy, applications function as expected, and remediation goals have been achieved.
Technical Checks
After a patch job completes, confirm:
- Packages are at the expected versions on each host.
- Hosts have rebooted where required.
- System metrics (CPU, memory, disk, network) look normal.
You can refer to Breeze telemetry, CMDB list views, and patch management dashboards for these checks.
Application Checks
Coordinate with application teams to verify:
- Critical user journeys still work.
- Background jobs, integrations, and batch processes run as expected.
- No new errors appear in application logs.
Vulnerability Re‑Scans
Where Patch Management is used to remediate vulnerabilities:
- Re‑run vulnerability scans on patched systems.
- Confirm that targeted findings are closed or downgraded in severity.
- Investigate any residual or newly introduced findings.
