Summary KPI Tiles

This guide provides a high-level overview of the summary KPI tiles available on CMDB configuration item (CI) detail pages. The tiles surface key posture, cost, and operational signals for the current CI and provide quick entry points into other modules.

What the Tiles Show​

The tiles are compact cards arranged in a horizontal row under the instance name header. Each tile highlights a single metric or status.

Many tiles are clickable. Selecting a tile can:

  • Take you directly to the corresponding tab on the left (for example, BACKUPS, SECURITY, or APPLICATION).
  • Open a detailed section on the layout that may otherwise be collapsed or hidden (for example, CloudAware Upgradable Packages).

Tile Types​

30‑Day Cost​

Shows recent cost associated with the CI over approximately the last 30 days.

Use this tile to quickly identify unusually expensive resources or to confirm that a CI’s spend is in line with expectations.

Blended Cost​

Shows a blended cost metric for the CI, which may combine multiple cost dimensions (for example, on‑demand, reserved, or other cost components) into a single value.

Use this tile to compare like‑for‑like resources or to track cost trends over time.

Breeze​

Indicates Breeze agent coverage and data freshness for the CI, for example:

  • Data is being collected or No data status
  • Breeze: Last Update(date/time)

If the tile shows that data is missing, verify that the Breeze agent is installed, configured, and reporting for the underlying resource.

Upgradable Packages​

Summarizes upgrade information for installed packages where package data is available (for example, security or optional package updates). A non‑zero count or warning state suggests that the CI may require OS or package maintenance.

The tile opens up the CLOUDAWARE UPGRADABLE PACKAGES tab where packages that require attention are shown.

Application​

Shows whether the CI is associated with an application record. If the tile indicates Application is not set up, you can use application‑related actions on the layout to attach the CI to the correct application context.

The tile opens up the APPLICATION tab where detailed information on the Application and Tier names is located.

IDS​

Reflects IDS status for the CI, for example:

  • Monitored status (otherwise, the tile is not shown)
  • HIDS: Last Status Update (date/time)

Use this tile to confirm that Intrusion Detection is in place. The tile opens up the SECURITY tab where the HIDS events section is located. The section provides a single agent’s status, metadata, alert trend, and recent event log in a single vertical layout.

Scans​

Reflects security scanning status for the CI, for example:

  • High severity: {Number} or Not being scanned
  • Last Scan Date (if scanned)

Use this tile to confirm that vulnerability or security scanning is in place. Note that a Not being scanned may also indicate that a different scanner is being used as data source (not Cloudaware VSaaS) or that additional configuration is required.

The tile opens up the CLOUDAWARE VULNERABILITIES tab where the vulnerability scan section is located.

Backups​

Indicates backup configuration and health for the CI:

  • Backups Health: {Number}% or Backups are not set up

Use this tile to quickly see whether the resource is protected by backup policies and whether recent backup jobs are succeeding.

The tile opens up the BACKUPS tab where detailed information about backups is located.

New Relic​

Reflects New Relic monitoring status for the CI:

  • New Relic: Monitored or Instance is not monitored
  • New Relic Host: Last Timestamp (date/time) if monitored

The tile opens up the CAPACITY REPORT tab where the sections with New Relic monitoring data can be found.

Availability and Conditional Display​

Not all tiles appear for every CI type. Specific tiles are shown only when the underlying data or module is available and relevant to that object. For example:

  • Breeze and Upgradable Packages are typically shown on Breeze‑enabled compute resources.
  • Scan‑related tiles rely on configured security or vulnerability scanning integrations.
  • Backup‑related tiles appear when backup policies or jobs apply to the CI.

If a tile is missing, it usually means that the corresponding module is not enabled for that CI type or Cloudaware does not yet have the required data.
