Integrate Pingdom with Cloudaware to ingest uptime checks and performance data for unified monitoring governance.

Capabilities
The integration supports:
- Read-only discovery of Pingdom checks and related monitoring data
- Relationship mappings between Pingdom checks, Cloudaware Applications, and assets in the CMDB
- Search and reporting for Pingdom data using CMDB Navigator, CMDB list views, and reports
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- Access to a Cloudaware account.
- A user with access to the Admin Console and permissions to manage cloud accounts, organizations, and integrations (Cloudaware Administrator).
- Pingdom login and password.
- Pingdom Application Key from Pingdom API settings.
Add a Pingdom Account to Cloudaware
- In Cloudaware, go to Admin.
- Find Pingdom, then click + ADD.
- Enter the following values:
- Login: Enter the Pingdom login.
- Password: Enter the Pingdom password.
- Application Key: Enter the Pingdom Application Key.
- Click Save.
- Confirm that the integration status indicator is green.
tip
Allow the initial discovery cycle to complete after enabling the integration.
View Pingdom Data in CMDB
- In Cloudaware, open CMDB Navigator.
- In the left pane, select PINGDOM.
- Open the Pingdom check or related monitoring object list to view records.
Troubleshooting
note
Initial data collection may take time to complete.
Authentication Failed or Integration Shows Red Status
- Verify that the Pingdom login and password are correct.
- Confirm that the Pingdom Application Key is valid and active.
- Check whether the Pingdom account can access the checks Cloudaware must discover.
- Re-enter the credentials by editing the integration in Cloudaware.
Pingdom Data Is Missing
- Allow the initial discovery cycle to complete.
- Confirm that the Pingdom account has access to the missing checks or monitoring data.
- Review the Pingdom account permissions and Application Key settings.
- In CMDB Navigator, verify that you are viewing the PINGDOM section and related resources.
Changes in Pingdom Are Not Yet Visible in Cloudaware
- Synchronization is periodic. Wait for the next collection cycle.
- Confirm that the Pingdom account can still access the changed checks.
- Review the integration status and error messages in Cloudaware Admin.

Reconfigure or Remove the Integration

To rotate credentials or update the Application Key, edit the existing integration instead of deleting and re-creating it.
Update the Integration Details
- Go to Admin.
- Select Pingdom.
- Select the specific integration.
- Open the three-dot menu (⋮), then click Edit.
- Update the required fields.
- Click Save.
Remove the Integration from Cloudaware
- Go to Admin.
- Select Pingdom.
- Select the specific integration.
- Open the three-dot menu (⋮), then click Delete.
- Confirm the deletion if prompted.
Security Notes
- Use a dedicated Pingdom account or API credential with the minimum access required for Cloudaware discovery.
- Avoid using a personal administrator account for long-running integrations.
- Store Pingdom credentials and Application Keys only in approved credential stores and avoid sharing them through tickets, chat, or documentation.
- Rotate the Pingdom password and Application Key according to your organization's credential-rotation policy and immediately after suspected exposure.
- Review Pingdom account access regularly to confirm that Cloudaware can access only the checks required for discovery.
- Update the Cloudaware Pingdom integration immediately if the password or Application Key is reset, revoked, or replaced in Pingdom.
