Integrate Nessus with Cloudaware to ingest vulnerability scan data for unified security visibility, reporting, and remediation workflows.

Capabilities
The integration supports:
- Ingestion of Nessus vulnerability scan data
- Vulnerability context in Cloudaware for affected assets
- Search and reporting for Nessus-derived vulnerability data using CMDB Navigator, CMDB list views, and reports
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- Access to a Cloudaware account.
- A user with access to the Admin Console and permissions to manage integrations.
- Nessus hostname.
- Nessus username and password.
Add Nessus Credentials
To connect Nessus credentials to Cloudaware:
- In Cloudaware, go to Admin.
- Find Nessus in Security integrations, then click + ADD.
- Enter the following values:
- Hostname: Enter the host name.
- Username: Enter the username.
- Password: Enter the password associated with the username.
- Click SAVE.
- Verify the integration status.
A green status indicator means the integration is configured successfully. If the status indicator is red, contact Cloudaware Support at support@cloudaware.com.
View Nessus Data in Cloudaware
To review Nessus data:
- In Cloudaware, open CMDB Navigator.
- Review vulnerability-related records associated with Nessus scan data.
- Use reports and list views to analyze vulnerability coverage and remediation progress.
Troubleshooting
Initial data collection may take time to complete after the integration is saved.
Integration Shows Red Status
- Confirm that the Nessus hostname is correct.
- Verify that the username and password are correct.
- Confirm that the Nessus user has access to the required scan data.
- Check whether Cloudaware can reach the Nessus host.
Nessus Data Is Missing
- Allow the initial discovery cycle to complete.
- Confirm that the Nessus account can access the expected scan results.
- Verify that the Nessus host is reachable and active.
- In CMDB Navigator, confirm that you are viewing vulnerability-related records.

Reconfigure or Remove the Integration
To rotate credentials or update the Nessus host, edit the existing integration instead of deleting and re-creating it.
Update the Integration Details
- Go to Admin.
- Select Nessus.
- Select the specific integration.
- Open the three-dot menu, then click Edit.
- Update the required fields.
- Click Save.
Remove the Integration from Cloudaware
- Go to Admin.
- Select Nessus.
- Select the specific integration.
- Open the three-dot menu, then click Delete.
- Confirm the deletion if prompted.
Security Notes
- Use a dedicated Nessus account for Cloudaware discovery.
- Grant only the minimum permissions required to read scan data.
- Store Nessus credentials only in approved credential stores.
- Rotate Nessus credentials according to your organization's credential-rotation policy.
- Update the Cloudaware integration immediately if the Nessus password is revoked, regenerated, or replaced.
