AlertOps
Integrate AlertOps with Cloudaware to centralize alerting, on-call, and escalation metadata in the Cloudaware CMDB. The integration enables unified reporting, relationships to applications and assets, and downstream workflows.
- Audience: Cloudaware administrators, AlertOps administrators, SRE/NOC teams, and incident response teams
- Outcome: The AlertOps account is connected, and AlertOps objects are continuously discovered in the CMDB
Capabilities
The integration supports:
- Read-only discovery of AlertOps objects
- Relationship mappings between AlertOps objects in the CMDB
- Search and reporting for AlertOps objects using CMDB Navigator, CMDB list views, and reports
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- Access to a Cloudaware account.
- A user with access to the Admin Console and permissions to manage cloud accounts, organizations, and integrations (Cloudaware Administrator).
- AlertOps domain (subdomain) for your organization, for example:
mycompanyforhttps://mycompany.alertops.com. - AlertOps user credentials with read access to Alerts, Users, Groups, and Escalation Policies.
Add an AlertOps Account to Cloudaware
To connect your AlertOps account to Cloudaware:
- In Cloudaware, go to Admin.
- Find AlertOps, then click + ADD.
- Enter the following values:
- Name: A display name for this connection
- Domain: The subdomain only, e.g.,
mycompanyforhttps://mycompany.alertops.com - User Name: Your AlertOps username
- Password: Your AlertOps password
- Click SAVE.
- Confirm that the integration status indicator is green.
Allow the initial discovery cycle to complete after enabling the integration.
View AlertOps Data in CMDB
To browse discovered AlertOps resources:
- In Cloudaware, open CMDB Navigator.
- In the left pane, select ALERTOPS.
- Open an object list, e.g., AlertOps Users, to view records.

Cloudaware ingests the following AlertOps objects:

Troubleshooting
Initial data collection may take time to complete.
Authentication Failed or Integration Shows Red Status
- Confirm the user can sign in to AlertOps directly.
- Check whether the AlertOps user account is locked or requires MFA during sign-in.
- Verify that the Domain in the Cloudaware integration form contains only the subdomain, without the protocol or
.alertops.com. - Re-enter the credentials by editing the integration in Cloudaware.
No Data Appears Several Hours After a Successful Save
- Allow the initial discovery cycle to complete.
- Ensure the AlertOps user has read access to Alerts, Users, Groups, and Escalation Policies.
- In CMDB Navigator, verify that you are viewing the ALERTOPS section and related resources.
Access Error Message Is Displayed for Some Objects
- Read the error message to identify which objects or fields are not accessible.
- Review the setup configuration and grant any missing permissions for the affected scope.
Changes in AlertOps Are Not Yet Visible in Cloudaware
- Synchronization is periodic. Wait for the next cycle or contact support to review the schedule.

Reconfigure or Remove the Integration
To rotate credentials, edit the existing integration instead of deleting and re-creating it.
Update the Integration Details
- Go to Admin.
- Select AlertOps.
- Select the specific integration.
- Open the three-dot menu (⋮), then click Edit.
- Update the required fields.
- Click Save.
Remove the Integration from Cloudaware
- Go to Admin.
- Select AlertOps.
- Select the specific integration.
- Open the three-dot menu (⋮), then click Delete.
- Confirm the deletion if prompted.
Security Notes
- Use a dedicated AlertOps account with the minimum required read access.
- Rotate the AlertOps password according to your organization’s credential-rotation policy.
- Credentials are stored securely and are only visible to Cloudaware collector.
