Breeze Agent 3.x Compatibility & Support
This guide provides summary on supported operating systems, architectures, packaging, cloud platforms, and migration co-existence guidance.
Supported Operating Systems
Breeze Agent 3.x is tested on the same core platforms as the general agent, including:
- Linux: Amazon Linux 1, 2, and 2023; RHEL / CentOS 7+; Debian 8+; Ubuntu 14.04+.
- Windows: Windows Server 2012 and newer.
- macOS: macOS 12+ (Monterey and later).
Architectures and Packaging
- Linux:
x86_64andarm64(aarch64), distributed as signed archives with an install script. - Windows:
x86_64installer executable. - macOS: builds for Intel and Apple Silicon, suitable for deployment through MDM and software distribution tools.
Cloud Platforms and Integrations
- First‑class support for major public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle Cloud) where instance metadata access is required for full functionality.
- Kubernetes support via a DaemonSet deployed to each node in supported managed or self‑managed clusters.
- Improved support for macOS deployment via MDM, including Jamf‑based rollouts.
Co‑Existence With Earlier Agents
- During migration, you can stage 3.x alongside existing 1.x deployments across different host groups or environments.
- Cloudaware recommends avoiding multiple Breeze agents on the same host at the same time; perform a controlled cut‑over per host or node.
- Use the Migration guide and Changelog to plan rollouts and understand any behavioral differences.
